Maine Cat Passenger Ferry
Oak Hill Marine Design began working with Maine Cat in 2008 to develop a longer, higher volume version of their P-38 power catamaran hull. The overall length was increased to 47’, the hull beams were increased by 1’, and the lightship displacement increased to 21,000 lb.
In 2011, Maine Cat was hired to build a 33 passenger ferry to transport New York golfers to and from a New Jersey course. Oak Hill Marine Design was tasked with the job of modifying Maine Cat's 47' power catamaran yacht to meet the client's specifications while satisfying US Coast Guard's Subchapter T regulations. The resulting vessel was a success and has been operating spring, summer, and fall since its delivery in 2012.
